Azerbaijan’s Vision for Technological Innovation and Global Impact

On March 16, 2023, Baku hosted the visionary conference “What Should the World Be Like?”, which showcased cutting-edge projects aimed at shaping the future. Youth from Turkey, Israel, the USA, the UK, Germany, Brazil, and Qatar joined Azerbaijani innovators to present groundbreaking ideas. The event emphasized the importance of technology-driven solutions to tackle global challenges while fostering a sustainable and inclusive future.

Pioneering Projects Presented

Several innovative projects captured the audience’s imagination with their potential to revolutionize key sectors:

  1. SkyBee
SkyBee drones are poised to address the alarming decline of global bee populations by providing eco-friendly pollination solutions for agriculture. Designed to mimic bees’ movements, these drones protect natural ecosystems while boosting agricultural productivity. Backed by state funding from the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBD), SkyBee is gearing up for test flights by July 15, aiming to redefine pollination practices globally.
  2. CleaPolis
This smart robot system targets marine and coastal pollution. By identifying and analyzing contaminants, CleaPolis provides critical data for environmental protection while holding polluters accountable. The project has already gained international recognition, winning awards such as third place at the BETA Startup Competition.
  3. HiRamp
HiRamp introduces smart ramps for individuals with disabilities, enhancing urban mobility by overcoming physical barriers. With plans for countrywide implementation, this project has been celebrated in international forums, including the Teknofest Competition, and promises transformative social impact.
  4. LifeX
A smart psychological analyzer, LifeX, focuses on preventing hidden suicide cases among youth aged 10–17. It integrates data-driven monitoring to support mental health and has been successfully showcased in the Teknofest Competition.
  5. BiGardens
These smart pots make urban gardening effortless by providing automated plant care based on an integrated library of flora data. The project has gained attention for its potential to improve green spaces in small urban areas.
  6. On@Touch
A social mobility platform for individuals with disabilities, On@Touch enables seamless participation in social, private, and public events. It serves as a vital tool for enhancing inclusivity and accessibility.
  7. Energy Wheels
Designed to enhance public safety, Energy Wheels is an intelligent security device for crowded and strategically important spaces. By integrating identity recognition and real-time monitoring, it significantly boosts crime prevention and community safety.
